Rockabye Baby
If you’re a bit of a music snob (like myself), and you have children (like myself), you may have deep convictions about allowing your child to listen to much of the music that is offered to babies and toddlers. Baby Einstein, the Wiggles, and numerous others definitely make me ask the question, “Is this what I want my daughter listening to?” Honestly, every time I hear some of these poorly produced children’s music albums, I cringe at the thought that my daughter might actually enjoy listening to these songs.
But, yesterday, Emily and I may have found the answer in Rockabye Baby! This is a project that takes some of my favorite artists tunes and puts them into “lullaby” versions…mainly featuring percussion ensemble instrumentation (marimba, vibes, etc). I love it. I’d listen to it even if I didn’t have a child. My favorites are Radiohead, Coldplay, and the Pixies! I also find AC/DC and Metallica hilarious! Be sure to check it out!

Sammie rockin’ out in the music room!
Jason,
I give you the prose stylings of Reggie Wayne.
“I don’t buy into that. Marv’s still O.G. (Original Gangster), man. Marv’s still the Don. Marv’s a Hall of Famer. Check his stats. He’s been there and done that. I’m trying to get where he’s at.”
Ah, I can’t wait for real football season to start. I’m already tired of the Jim Sorgi experience. Of course, I am really enjoying the Jared Lorenzen experience. I think Jared stole Tarik Glenn’s physique.
And no, this has nothing to do with music. Unless you consider the lamentations of Patriots fans music. Which I do.
Fartacus

Ah, the return of Mr. Fartacus!
All it takes is one pathetic pre-season game and the Colts are on the board again.
It does not surprise me that you would make these comments on a post about music. Granted, I have yet to write about the Colts. But, they have not given me any thing to write about…except maybe Peyton’s timeline for a return so we don’t have to hear the name Sorgi or Gray ever again.
Plus side to the Redskins game? Mike Hart. Wow…a guy from Michigan can run for 50+ yards against the Skins practice squad…which is pretty much like running against the Delta High School freshman football team.
Good to see that you’re alive…unless you’re sending this from the great beyond.
Will you be in Funcie for the great Ball State vs. Navy showdown on Friday, September 5th? If not, be sure to watch the game on ESPN. I’ll be the one grabbing the camera screaming…”I told you so, Fartacus! Two in a row on your precious midshipmen!”
