Bike Rides

After assembling Sammie’s new bike seat, we will be going on a lot of bike rides. The main reason isn’t because she has a new bike seat. The reason behind a plethora of pending bike rides would be the lengthy time of assembly…and the two trips to Lowes. If you look at the seat, you’d be surprised that I spent the entire morning and took two trips to Lowes…it doesn’t look that complicated. Well, it was.

But, I’m excited to hit the trail after Sammie wakes up from her nap.

Oh, we also purchased a new bike rack for the car…That way we can easily take our bikes wherever we go…or if we want to just drive straight to the Cardinal Greenway (to avoid riding through our neighborhood or crossing Walnut with Sammie).

Let Go

This week, I’m working on a message that will focus on forgiveness. The idea is to “let go”…of the pain others have caused us, of the grudges we hold, of the “stuff” we keep bottled up, of the “addictions” that keep us from being the people God has called us to…

Forgiveness is something we often cling to…we get a clean slate by simply calling out to God and saying “sorry” for screwing up.

Where it gets really difficult is when we need to forgive others. It’s not really normal to “let go.”

I’ll be focusing on James 4:8 and Matthew 6:14-15.

Question: What’s the hardest part of forgiveness for you?

Bathroom Day 7,154

Nate and I called it a night early, which means around 11:30pm. We finished up our electrical work, plumbing, drywall (including putting up a coat of primer), installed the flooring, and Nate started the trim work (he stopped cutting at 11pm because we don’t want to make too much noise outside too late). The room looks incredible and pictures don’t do it justice.

Bathroom Day ?

I’ve lost track of time. At some point, today was Friday. But, as we just called it a night at 2:15am, I’m pretty sure it’s now Saturday. Today was an eventful day. We finished hanging drywall, finished up some electrical loose ends, went to the Heorot with family (my parents, and my father and grandfather-in-laws), did some more drywall work (compound spreading), went to Greenville for dinner, a trip to Lowe’s, sanded drywall, textured the ceiling, and cleaned up a bit. Now, it’s shower and bed time (at 2:37…wake up call is at 7:30…see you in the morning).

Day Three Continued

Well, I don’t know if you’ll be able to figure out what’s going on in these pictures…But, we have the surround in around the tub…all our plumbing done, all put one small sheet of drywall hung. So, this morning, we plan on putting up the last sheet, taping, edging, and mudding. Hopefully we’ll get our days wish list done before 1:45am. We’re both (Nate & I) moving a little slow today.

By the way, Nate has at least 11 spider bites from our explorations and adventures in the crawl space. I have one. So, I definitely got the better end of that one.
