Relaxation
So, I’m sitting in a recliner next to a wood-burning stove, gazing out the window at the falling snow, listening to my daughter snore in the next room, and sipping on an ice-cold Shiner bock. I believe this is pretty much how God wants me to relax on a Saturday. This is pretty much how I would enjoy celebrating the Sabbath on a weekly basis.
Tomorrow is Easter and is normally one of two “big days” out of the year for those of us in the ministry. But, for the first time since I’ve been out of college, I won’t be working on Easter. It will be a “big day” as our family is heading to Columbus to celebrate Elle’s baptism. After church, we’ll be gathering at Nate and Abby’s for lunch. I know it will be a great day. It’s going to be nice to just go to church and not have to do anything!
I hope to kick back another Shiner bock on Easter. It’s a day of celebration…and personally, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate. It’s not every day a guy gets to drink a Shiner bock! (FYI- Traditionally, bock beers were brewed for special occasions like Christmas and Easter…seriously! And, it’s fitting as it’s known that many Monks consumed bock beers during the Lenten fasting season.)
I hope you, Em, Samantha, and all the North clan have a wonderful celebration of Elle’s baptism.
