My Book

I started writing a book today. Now, don’t get too excited (not that you would). This is probably the 250th book I’ve prepared to write. You see, I get these ideas, and for two or three days I begin to work on the manuscript. Then, I tire of trying to sound intelligent while communicating some kind of grand idea. But, this book just might be different.

My working title is “Life in the Church: Growing Up Christianized”. I should probably get that copywrited if I’m at all serious about this…which I think I am.

The story will be a memoir of the various stages of my life and the role the church played. I won’t be telling stories about school, sports, bands, and the like. This will truly narrow in on my memories of the church. So far, the memories involve countless people, donuts, peacocks, weddings, funerals, professional wrestling, beer (big surprise there), and so much more.

Now, a lot of people will know exactly what churches and people I’m talking about throughout the book. So, before I attempt to publish anything (from time to time I may post a passage on this site), I will change the names of the churches and people. You have to understand that not all of my experiences with the church throughout the years have been positive. There have been moments of great joy and deep disappointment. That’s just sort of how it goes.

Well, I’ll keep you posted!
